RECIPE: Easy Burger Bowls

RECIPE: Easy Burger Bowls

The one meal I eat on repeat & everyone asks me to cook for them...

If you know me, you know I do not love cooking (often). I want meals that are easy, actually taste good, keep me full, and don’t require me to spend an hour in the kitchen. And this burger bowl checks every single box!

Think of it as everything you love about a burger, thrown into a bowl with sweet potatoes, avocado, pickles, and the easiest homemade burger sauce. It's high-protein, customizable, and SO good.

What You'll Need

For one bowl:

  • 5 oz 93/7 lean ground beef
  • 100g sweet potato, cubed
  • 1 cup chopped romaine lettuce
  • 50g cherry tomatoes
  • 10 pickle chips
  • Pickled red onion (or you can swap for sauteed onion)
  • 60g avocado
  • Salt, pepper + your favorite seasonings (I use a basic hamburger seasoning)
  • Optional: sesame seeds for topping

For the burger sauce:

  • 1 tbsp plain nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp sriracha

The sauce comes out to roughly 44 calories, 1.5g protein, 8g carbs and 0g fat. Iconic!

How to Make It

Start by cutting your sweet potato into bite-sized cubes. Season however you like and air fry or roast until they're crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

While those cook, brown your ground beef in a pan and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder—or whatever burger seasonings you're feeling.

Add chopped romaine to your bowl and layer on the ground beef, crispy sweet potatoes, tomatoes, pickles, pickled onions and avocado.

For the sauce, mix the Greek yogurt, mustard, ketchup and sriracha together until creamy. Drizzle it ALL over your bowl. I usually finish mine with a sprinkle of sesame seeds.

That's it. Dinner is done!

The Macros

For the bowl pictured, before adding the sauce, you're looking at approximately:

478 calories
33.7g protein
32.1g carbs
22.8g fat

With the full serving of burger sauce, it's approximately:

522 calories | 35g protein | 40g carbs | 23g fat

Macros can obviously vary depending on the brands you use and how heavy-handed you are with toppings, but this is a great starting point.

Make It Your Own

This is also one of those recipes you really can't mess up. Want more protein? Add extra ground beef. Want to lower the fat? Use leaner beef or less avocado. Want more carbs? Load up on the sweet potatoes. You could even add cheese, jalapeños, grilled onions or whatever else you normally put on your burger.

It feels indulgent without being too indulgent, has a solid amount of protein, and most importantly—it actually tastes like something I want to eat for dinner.
