Hello friends!

Long time, no chat... MY BAD.

Life has been a whirlwind for me?! I was traveling, then got caught up with work and a new fitness app, then went to Coachella for the first time (Lord have mercy) and then I got the lovely flu. It's been crazy, to say the least.

But I wanted to come back strong and do a fun 'lil blog post on a topic that love.

FASHION, BABY.

Ugh, sometimes I wish I was like a serious fashion blogger and that was my full time job + niche. But like, ya girl likes doing burpees and talking about Brussel sprouts way too much. So for now, I'll keep being the "lifestyle" blogger that I am - AKA, all over the place. Yay!

Today I am going to fill you in on my TOP 10 wardrobe staples.

The pieces I wear WEEKLY.

The basic betch basics.

The clothes you absolutely need to invest in because you can make a million different outfits out of just 10 simple items.

Sounds great, right?

I own quite a few articles of clothing (I have a shopping problem, okay) and if someone told me I had to pick ONLY 10 things to wear for the rest of my life - dramatic AF - these are what I would choose.

P.S. Enjoy my trip down memory lane with all these photos throughout the years. I scrolled for days to find all these, LOL. Proof that I DO In fact wear these items all the time!

MORGAN'S TOP 10 MUST HAVE WARDROBE STAPLES:

1. Good pair of ripped jeans

Not to be totally dramatic.. But I LIVE in these jeans and love them probably more than I love any human? Kidding, but not. These are by Agolde and quite the splurge, but I firmly believe you should invest in ONE pair of expensive designer jeans because they will last you so long and you will be able to wear them multiple times a week! Seriously, I wear these with heels, boots, sneakers... everything! I definitely have gotten my money's worth and then some.

If you aren't quite ready to totally splurge, Abercrombie has some great denim options. I just got the high rise 90's fit in white denim and wowza... they are GOOD. They aren't quite the "boyfriend" fit like the Agolde's but they're cute and definitely worth the money. Buy multiple pairs like me and say YOLO.

2. Basic black and white layering bodysuits

Where have bodysuits been our whole life?! I literally live in a basic bodysuit. You can wear them with jeans and sneakers or toss on a leather skirt and heels, and you're ready for a night on the town! I definitely think you should have a black and white one so you can mix and match... seriously, so many outfits can be made out of a simple little bodysuit.

Again... not sponsored by Abercrombie (yet???)... but man, they have some good layering options?! I just went hard on their Spring sale and I am super impressed. I have linked a bunch of different options with different necklines to choose from!

3. Denim jacket

Another item that I think you should splurge on is a good denim jacket because you are going to wear that bad boy ALL the time and it's better invest in one you really love that will last ya for a couple years. I have been dyinggggg for this Free People denim jacket (over $100) but I haven't pulled the trugger just yet.. maybe it'll be an early birthday gift to myself? Right now, I have one by Abercrombie (WTF, y'all I swear I am not sponsored) and it's the 80's fit and perfectly oversized and slouchy.

If you are looking for more affordable options, Abercrombie is a good middle ground and Amazon has some super cute and very affordable options! Also, you can't go wrong with a class Levi's - they have some good options at Nordstroms.

If you were lucky and happened to snag one of my itsNOMB x Morgan Willett capsule collection denim jackets... lucky you! They're an oversized dream!! I hope I can bring them back for my next capsule collection (did I just spill tea?)

4. White sneakers

Every girl and their mom seems to have a pair of Nike Air Force 1's and yes, they are basic. But they're also just like, amazing?! I wear these almost daily and love mine so much. They go with jeans, dresses, leggings... everything! I feel like they're the most versatile pair of shoes that I own.

I also am currently obsessing over the platform hightop Converse (which are always selling out, BTW) but I feel like they aren't as timeless? They may just be a 2022 trend but still, I love mine and will be rotating them out with my air forces for the foreseeable future.

5. Statement hat

I know the rancher hats are not for everyone... but like... I love them. They're such a fun pop of color or cute addition to any outfit, and if you have dirty hair and don't feel like styling it - toss a hat on it. I normally get all of mine from Lack of Color (pricey) but I have linked so great dupes if you don't feel like splurging! If you are looking in getting one, I would suggest starting with a nice neutral or beige, then once you are officially obsessed (you will be), go for the fun colors.

If you are just really not feeling the rancher hat vibes, I suggest investing in a staple ball cap. I have the LA dodgers cap in every color (even though I am not a baseball fan oops) and whenever I feel lazy and want to look somewhat cute, I toss one on. Wear them with jeans and a bodysuit, with a sundress, or even with a blazer! Love a baseball cap moment.

6. LBD

Every girl needs a little black dress. Period.

I have probably 5 I keep in rotation and they're so easy to mix and match! Wear with your denim jacket and sneakers, under a blazer or even by itself with a pop of color heels! So many outfits can be made out of a simple black dress.

I linked a few different options I found on Revolve for under $100 but randomly, Abercrombie has some great options. What's happening and why is Abercrombie taking over the world?

7. High quality denim shorts

AKA not denim shorts you only wear to the beach and hardly covers your booty (you know the shorts I am talkin' about, we all have a pair).

I got these from Revolve by Rollas and they're a little more expensive but still under $100... score? They are the perfect fit and cover your booty enough so you can wear them to brunch with sneakers, to dinner with booties or even to the beach with sandals!

P.S. I bought these in blue, white and black so they definitely have my stamp of approval.

8. Day to night flowy maxi dress

I love maxi dresses. Mainly because they're so comfortable and so easy to go from day to night! Toss is on during the day with flip flops and grab a coffee, then put a denim jacket on and some booties and grab a drink at happy hour.

If you are looking for a place to get THE BEST maxi dresses... check out Petal & Pup (shown in this photo). They have so many cute and flowy options, and they're pretty affordable for the quality you get.

9. Statement blazer

Call me crazy... but I think every girl needs a hot pink blazer.

If pink isn't your jam (GASP), I still think a good blazer is worth investing in, even if it's black, green, blue, whatever. A blazer is a great way to spice up any outfit and take you from casual to business chic. I wear them with denim shorts and sneakers, or jeans and a bodysuit and heels. Boom, easy outfit ideas that require little to no thinking.

Zara is a great place to shop for statement, structured blazers but they can be a little more expensive. My bubblegum pink blazer is from VICI Collection but is sadly sold out. Womp, womp. But have no fear, I did the Lord's work for y'all and found some other great options from Showpo?! I am tempted to order the lime green for myself... check 'em out!

10. Gold hoops

I am not a HUGE jewelry gal, I have a few statement David Yurman pieces but I don't normally wear anything crazy. The only earrings I absolutely MUST have in my life are some classic gold hoops. I feel like you can wear these with ANY outfit, casual or dressy, and it's a great way to take your look from "blah" to "babe status".

My favorites are by Kendra Scott, but I recently discovered Melinda Maria jewelry and I am OBSESSED - yes, I do say that a lot, but it's true! These are the "Big Ass 4" Hoops" (lol at the name) and I get so many compliments every time I wear them!

There she is again in her ripped jeans and staple hat. Wow, I am so predictable?! But y'all once you have your staples, it is SO easy to mix and match! I love fashion that requires not a TON of planning, especially when I am traveling and on the go.

I hope this helps you with your future shopping! Remember, go for some staples and don't be afraid to splurge on a piece or two that you LOVE. You will get good use out of them, I promise.

That's all for now, folks. My fingers hurt and I need to take a shower and go to sleep.

Until next time...

Xoxo,

Morg
